Swissair - Flight Cancellations
The SWISS fleet includes a mixture of Airbus, Boeing and Bombardier aircrafts, each travelling to European destinations and some further afield. The main hub which most flights depart from is in Zurich but also many from Geneva and Lugano which together serve over 100 destinations. Annually 18 million passengers travel with SWISS, using one of almost 90 of their aircrafts.
The airline of Switzerland is a member of both the Lufthansa Group and the Star Alliance, ensuring it produces quality air transport from Switzerland to the rest of the world.
The airline was formed after the bankruptcy of Swissair, the former flag carrier of Switzerland. Along with Crossair, they formed Swiss International Air Lines, branded SWISS.
One benefit of EU law is that it protects flying passengers. If SWISS is at fault for delays, overbooking or cancellation then the airline may owe flight compensation to their passengers.
